Interior Painting Services
Living Room Painting
Living rooms in Bath’s Georgian and Victorian properties often have high ceilings, chimney breast alcoves, and original cornicing. We paint walls, ceilings, and all woodwork as a complete room.
Colour choice affects how these spaces feel, especially in rooms with less natural light. We advise on paint sheen levels and colour temperature during the site visit. See our living room painting page for more.
Bedroom Painting
A well-finished bedroom with clean ceiling lines and consistent coverage reads as calm and well-maintained. Period properties with ceiling mouldings need hand-cutting rather than masking tape alone.
We take the time to achieve a clean finish at every junction. See our bedroom painting page for full details.
Hallway Painting
Hallways in Georgian townhouses are rarely straightforward. Narrow corridors, tall stair wells, coving, picture rails, and multiple door frames mean more cutting-in per square metre than any other room.
We work methodically from ceiling to skirting board. See our hallway painting page for more on period hallways.

Kitchen, Bathroom and Ceiling Painting

Kitchen Painting
A kitchen repaint can change the feel of a room without a full refit. We paint kitchen walls, ceilings, and woodwork. Kitchens need careful surface preparation, particularly around areas exposed to steam and grease.
For cabinet doors and drawer fronts, see our kitchen cabinet painting page for spray and brush finish options.
Bathroom Painting
Bathrooms require moisture-resistant finishes over correctly prepared surfaces. Poor preparation leads to peeling paint, especially above showers and baths.
We use moisture-resistant and mould-inhibiting primers as a standard step in every job. See our bathroom painting page for full details.
Ceiling Painting
High ceilings are a feature of Bath’s Georgian and Regency properties. Ceiling roses, run cornicing, and decorative plasterwork need precise cutting-in. A poorly cut ceiling rose shows from any angle.
On very high ceilings, additional access equipment may be required. See our ceiling painting page for more.
Other Interior Services
We also cover dining room painting, feature wall painting, home office painting, staircase painting, plasterboard painting, radiator painting, and wall painters for specialist texture and finish work.

Here’s How It Works
1. Site Visit and Colour Consultation
We visit the property, assess the surfaces, and discuss the project. Colour consultation is included at this stage at no separate charge.
2. Preparation
We fill cracks, stabilise loose plaster, sand back rough surfaces, and apply the correct primer. Original lime plaster needs a breathable primer; freshly plastered walls need a sealing coat first.
3. Paint Application
Ceilings are painted first, then walls, then woodwork. This keeps drips off finished surfaces. Each coat gets adequate drying time before the next is applied.
4. Period Feature Care
Cornicing, ceiling roses, picture rails, and original skirting boards are hand-cut precisely. Where original mouldings have been painted over many times, we advise on reinstatement options.
5. Final Walkthrough
We check for missed spots, uneven coverage, and paint on surfaces it should not be on. We walk through the completed rooms with you and address anything before we leave.

Interior Painting Costs in Bath
Room Size
A large reception room in a Georgian townhouse has considerably more wall and ceiling area than a modern bedroom. More area means more materials and more time.
Costs typically range from £300 to £600 for a single room repaint and £3,000 to £8,000 or more for a full-house interior. Bath properties often sit at the higher end of these ranges.
Surface Condition
Original lime plaster with cracks and uneven surfaces requires more preparation than a smooth skim-plastered modern wall. Preparation is the most time-intensive part of any interior repaint.
Georgian properties in Bath have ceilings of 3.0 to 3.5 metres or more, meaning more linear metres of cornicing and more wall area per room.
Paint Quality
Trade paints like Dulux Trade and Johnstone’s are the standard. Heritage paints such as Farrow and Ball and Little Greene are more expensive per litre and priced accordingly.
Tower scaffolding is occasionally needed in main reception rooms with very high ceilings — budget higher per room than you would for a standard new-build.
Typical Cost Ranges
A single room repaint in a Victorian terrace typically costs £350 to £600. A full hallway and staircase in a Georgian townhouse runs £600 to £1,200. A whole-house interior repaint on a 4 to 5 bedroom period property runs £5,000 to £10,000+.
